Basic workflow (taking a typical vertical gravity separator as an example):
Primary separation at the inlet: The airflow carrying droplets enters the separator at a certain angle, impacts the inlet baffle, and larger droplets are directly intercepted, coalesced, and fall due to inertia.
Gravity settling zone: The airflow velocity is significantly reduced in the main space, and medium-sized droplets naturally settle to the bottom of the container under the action of gravity.
Fine separation zone (core): The airflow finally passes through a wire mesh demister or fiber coalescer. As tiny droplets pass through these dense structures, they are intercepted, collided, and coalesced, eventually forming larger droplets that fall.
Collection and Discharge: The separated liquid accumulates at the bottom, monitored by a level gauge, and is discharged by an automatic or manual drain valve. The purified gas flows out from the top outlet.
